Second version of the practical workshop Elevating Health

At the end of November, we held the second edition of the practical workshop “Lifting Health”, an initiative in which residents of the Los Palos sector, Puerto Aysén and other nearby towns learned about the main care they should take with their sheep and cattle.

With the participation of veterinarian Tomás Aguilar, from the Aysén Municipality’s Farmers’ Office, and Rodrigo Cárdenas, from the Aysén Regional Health Directorate, topics such as cattle and sheep health schedules, dental chronology, routes and methods of medication injection, and livestock restraint and handling techniques were addressed, in addition to zoonotic diseases and their prevention.

This activity, carried out within the framework of the Kreen Foundation’s “Links for Multispecies Coexistence” program, seeks to contribute to the balance between animal health, human health, and ecosystem health, or “One Health.”

We thank the community members who were motivated to attend and learn new skills, and especially La Herradura grill for hosting us for this workshop.
