Registration is now open for the Audiovisual Creation Workshop that will take place within the framework of FECINART Kreen 2026

If you’re between 17 and 21 and enjoy creating content for social media, this is your chance to take it to the next level. Whether you’re passionate about telling stories about the nature and biodiversity around you, or you’re curious about audiovisual storytelling and want to explore its full creative potential, you’ll find a space here designed just for you. And if it’s not you but you know someone with that drive, share this unique, free opportunity with them.

As part of the second edition of the Film, Nature, and Art Festival (FECINART Kreen), we invite young people from the Puerto Aysén community to apply for the “Audiovisual Creation Workshop.” This initiative is part of the festival’s ongoing commitment to audiovisual training and creative development in the region. The workshop will consist of six sessions held between June 1 and June 28, 2026, and is completely free of charge, subject to prior registration and selection.

In its inaugural edition, FECINART Kreen featured an outstanding curated selection of short films by filmmakers and documentarians from across the country, aimed at highlighting community-based conservation initiatives, showcasing the biodiversity of different territories, and strengthening environmental communication. A special highlight was the screening of micro-short films created by participants of the Documentary Filmmaking School, a training program designed for young students from the Aysén region. Throughout this program, participants were provided with audiovisual tools to create short documentaries, guided by the central theme that shaped the entire 2025 Festival program: “The Art of Storytelling.”

This year, the program continues under the name “Audiovisual Creation Workshop.” On this occasion, we invite young people between the ages of 17 and 21 to apply for six sessions focused on the art of storytelling and scriptwriting—tools for building effective audiovisual narratives, connecting with diverse audiences, and developing strong narrative structures. Participants will also receive guidance for creative exploration and for deepening an environmental perspective through cinematic language.

This year’s festival theme is “Glaciers: Waters from Afar.” Accordingly, the workshop will also explore these vast, ancient masses of ice, which have shaped the geoforms of Patagonia. From this starting point, participants will delve into stories about water and its many forms of existence, understanding it as a vital element that runs through all organisms and ecosystems. Water not only shapes the landscape, but also weaves invisible connections between species, territories, and ways of life.

These sessions will take place at the Casa Alerce Cultural Center and will be led by its team, along with members of the Geopoetics of Patagonia collective. Together, they will guide participants in exploring their personal perspectives on territory, nature, and the ways we inhabit and relate to our environment. The primary focus will be on the creative process as a space for learning, experimentation, and reflection.

The results of this workshop will be showcased in August 2026, alongside other micro-documentaries selected through this year’s open call for FECINART Kreen. During the same event, an award will be presented for the best micro-short film created as part of the Audiovisual Creation Workshop.

FECINART Kreen is thus envisioned as a platform for bringing together the audiovisual arts, where creators, artists, students, audiences, and the broader Puerto Aysén community come together around cinema, critical thinking, and a shared commitment to caring for the environment.
