The tale of the puye

The Rescue of Flautín and Crespo is the story of two friends who embark on an exciting adventure in the waters of Aysén.

This is a story written by Emilia Macchi, with the support of Jorge Majlis, an aquatic ecosystem specialist at the Kreen Foundation, as part of one of the Kreen Foundation’s community outreach projects in Puerto Aysén and the surrounding area.

Storyteller Leila Nates was in charge of narrating and acting out the story of Flautín and Crespo for second and third grade students. The initiative took place at the Gabriela Mistral School, the Ribera Sur Elementary School, and the Sagrada Familia School.

This project aims to raise awareness and knowledge among schoolchildren about the importance of local aquatic ecosystems and foster their interest in nature conservation in a playful, interactive, and educational way.

Each session also included an educational presentation, describing each species involved in the story and various topics related to nature conservation.
