Boys and girls from Puerto Aysén experienced a connection with animals

Renoval Escuela Bosque was the setting for an educational encounter with nature for a group of boys and girls from Puerto Aysén, organized jointly by Fundación Kreen and Fundación AyCiencia.

The goal of the activity was to provide children with a meaningful experience connecting with animals through nonverbal communication, teaching them that animals are sentient beings with needs different from those of humans.

The activity involved hands-on experiences with dogs, chickens, lambs, and horses, allowing the children to feed the animals and learn about their main characteristics, needs, and communication. At the end of the day, the participants were able to express their emotions about interacting with the animals and share what they had learned.

The visit was part of the Healthy Pawprints initiative, which is part of the “Bonds for Multispecies Coexistence” program of the Kreen Foundation. Through this program, the foundation seeks to highlight the importance of One Health, which refers to the balance between human health, animal health, and the health of ecosystems.

Students from Renoval Bosque School, Gabriela Mistral School, and Ribera Sur Elementary School in Puerto Aysén participated.

Renoval Escuela Bosque is an educational institution in Puerto Aysén, which uses the Montessori methodology and outdoor training for children between three and six years old.
